{"id":11168,"date":"2023-02-08T09:30:15","date_gmt":"2023-02-08T08:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.directout.eu\/?p=11168"},"modified":"2023-07-20T10:24:39","modified_gmt":"2023-07-20T08:24:39","slug":"timeline-tv-deploys-15-directout-prodigy-mcs-for-international-live-sports-coverage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.directout.eu\/de\/timeline-tv-deploys-15-directout-prodigy-mcs-for-international-live-sports-coverage\/","title":{"rendered":"Timeline TV deploys 15 DirectOut PRODIGY.MCs for international live sports coverage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><section class=\"ffb-id-5qf5oeb0 fg-section fg-text-dark\"><div class=\"fg-container container fg-container-large fg-container-lvl--1\"><div class=\"fg-row row\" ><div class=\"ffb-id-5qf5oeb1 fg-col col-xs-12 col-md-12 fg-text-dark\"><div class=\"ffb-id-5qf5okrj fg-paragraph ff-richtext text-left    fg-text-dark\"><\/p>\n<p>Systems Engineer Chris Goddard discusses the installation of 15 DirectOut <a href=\"https:\/\/www.directout.eu\/de\/support\/glossary\/#glossary-prodigy-series\">PRODIGY Series<\/a> for Timeline TV&rsquo;s coverage of two high-profile, televised sporting events.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeline.tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Timeline TV<\/a>&nbsp;is one of the UK&rsquo;s leading providers of broadcast technologies and services, supplying broadcast infrastructure to some of the biggest sporting and entertainment events, both in the UK and worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><style><\/style><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><section class=\"ffb-id-5qf6b2kh fg-section fg-text-dark\"><div class=\"fg-container container fg-container-large fg-container-lvl--1\"><div class=\"fg-row row\" ><div class=\"ffb-id-5qf6b2ki fg-col col-xs-12 col-md-12 fg-text-dark\"><div class=\"ffb-id-5qf6bb5p fg-paragraph ff-richtext text-left    fg-text-dark\"><\/p>\n<p>Last year the company provided the framework for two high-profile, internationally-televised sporting events in Birmingham (UK) and Qatar, requiring the design of a new cutting-edge audio routing and distribution system.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><style>@media (min-width:1200px) { .ffb-id-5qf6b2kh{ padding-top: 10px;}}<\/style><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><section class=\"ffb-id-5qf62dnt fg-section fg-text-dark\"><div class=\"fg-container container fg-container-large fg-container-lvl--1\"><div class=\"fg-row row\" ><div class=\"ffb-id-5qf62dnu fg-col col-xs-12 col-md-7 fg-text-dark\"><div class=\"ffb-id-5qf63fhm fg-paragraph ff-richtext text-left    fg-text-dark\"><\/p>\n<p>A large-scale operation that presented the audio team with a number of technical challenges &ndash; including comms, clocking, routing, redundancy and format conversion &ndash; the system was designed to provide comprehensive, networked audio between the IBC (International Broadcast Centre) and multiple sporting venues, located across a variety of different sites.<\/p>\n<p>Systems Engineer Chris Goddard spoke to Synthax UK about the important role the system played for Timeline&rsquo;s live TV coverage, which was based around 15 DirectOut PRODIGY Series and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.directout.eu\/de\/produkt\/exbox-rav\/\">EXBOX.RAV<\/a>s.<\/p>\n<p>\"One of the main objectives was to build a system that could be moved between events in a relatively straight-forward manner,&rdquo; says Chris.\"<\/p>\n<p>\"In Birmingham, all of the different locations were connected solely via IP. Video, audio, comms. Each venue had its own LAN, interconnected via a WAN, which was managed by a third-party company.\"<\/p>\n<p>The system was designed to facilitate the routing of both program audio and comms between the IBC and various sporting venues across the city of Birmingham and the Midlands, via an ethernet-based infrastructure. And having worked on some other projects that have involved their implementation of AES67\/RAVENNA\/ST2110-30, it&rsquo;s again always a first consideration. There&rsquo;s no ambiguity, and I really like that in equipment.\"<\/p>\n<p>\"DirectOut are also very responsive as a company.
