USB_MADI_ACE_Playback

Secure & Redundant Playback

USB.MADI transforms your DirectOut device into a rock-solid playback interface.

For mission-critical applications, the combination of EARS™ (Enhanced Automatic Redundancy Switching) and USB.MADI provides an unprecedented level of security. If the primary playback source fails, the system automatically switches to a backup, ensuring uninterrupted audio for concerts, theater productions, and broadcast.

By leveraging RME’s low-latency drivers, you can use the module as a high-performance VST host, integrating your favorite plugins directly into the live signal chain.

Recording & Conversion

USB MADI turns your DirectOut converter into a high-channel-count interface for your DAW. Benefit from the pristine AD/DA conversion of the PRODIGY or MAVEN Series while recording up to 64 channels of high-resolution audio.

The Class Compliant (CC) firmware allows for driverless operation, making it possible to record high-end audio directly to an iPad or mobile device.

USB_MADI_ACE_DriveRack

Advanced Drive Rack Integration

USB.MADI is the perfect addition to a drive rack for comprehensive system management.

Use the module for Virtual Soundcheck by routing multi-track recordings back into the system without changing the patch.

The transparent integration with analysis tools like Smaart allows for precise system tuning.

Whether you are hosting corrective VSTs or managing complex signal paths, USB.MADI provides the bridge between your measurement software and the PA system.

One Device, Multiple Hosts

Any DirectOut device can now become a soundcard. With two or more SFP slots on most units (excluding EXBOX), you can connect two computers to the same device for parallel recording or processing.

OPERATION MODES & SETUP

USB.MADI is active and operational whenever it is connected to the SFP MADI host and via USB to the computer at the same time.

  • Driver-Based Mode (default): Out of the box, USB.MADI ships in Driver-Based mode for Windows and macOS. To operate in this mode, install the dedicated drivers available on the RME website.
  • Class Compliant Mode: To operate in class compliant mode, USB.MADI must be flashed with the class compliant firmware using the RME Flash Tool.
