As our systems have increased substantially in processing power, flexibility, and configurability, the number of possible system configurations has grown far beyond what can be fully validated through laboratory testing alone. To address this, DirectOut has decided to follow a dual release model.

  • STABLE releases represent software that has passed extensive internal verification as well as prolonged and wide-scale field deployment, and are considered suitable for critical production environments.

  • BETA releases, while already having successfully completed internal testing, are still undergoing real-world field testing across a broader range of use cases and configurations. These releases allow interested users to explore upcoming features ahead.

Once sufficient field validation has been achieved, a BETA release is promoted to STABLE.
